A Piece of Nevada Gold Mine’s Goldstrike Underground Complex

Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) bid the North Post work in 2020 and SMD was awarded this contract. We mobilized in the first half of 2020 and are still working here. Work consists of development and ore drifting, rehabilitation of various areas of the mine, and installation of high-capacity ground support.

To date, we have completed 20,000 feet of development and installed hundreds of thousands of feet of grouted bolts and inflatable frictions bolts. Additionally, this work involves significant utilities management.
